Sizes for Rollerblading wheels are usually from 50mm upto 60mm with 56-58mm being the most popular by far. Generally, the larger the diameter, the faster the skate wheels. However, note that some 59mm and 60mm wheels won't fit in some low profile UFS frames.
The hardness Rating for Polyurethane skate wheels is given in numbers from 85a up to 95a, occassionally slightly higher or lower too. The most common hardnesses are from 88a to 94a. Generally Harder compound aggressive skate wheels will last longer and are particularly suitable for street skating, whereas Softer compound rollerblading wheels will wear more easily on Rough surfaces, but are particluarly suitable for smooth surfaces such as those found in skateparks such as our own Uk skate Park in Stockport, Manchester. |
